Take Stock Scholarship Eligibility

Post-secondary scholarship opportunities are available to deserving eligible Monroe County middle and high school students in grades 6 through 9 from low income households.  Students applicants are evaluated on income and academic qualifiers.  

Selected students have the opportunity to earn up to a four-year college scholarship covering tuition and local fees. Selected students may also earn access to a two-year dormitory scholarship.  Scholarship recipients are required to maintain academic standards, maintain good attendance, maintain good behavior, meet weekly with a mentor, and remain crime/drug free. 

 

Scholarship Application Requirements

Student applicant must:

  • Be enrolled in an approved monroe county school

  • be a 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade student in good standing

  • have earned passing grades (c or better) in all classes with a minimum 2.0 gpa

  • have passing scores on florida standardized tests (fast or equivalent)

  • meet financial eligibility requirements established by the Tsic program

Please have the the following documents available for upload during the application process:

  • A copy of the parent/guardian U.S. Income Tax Statement 2024 - IRS Form 1040

  • Florida DCF - SNAP, TANF, Medicaid or HUD eligibility document (if applicable)

  • A copy of student applicant’s U.S. Social Security Card

Applicant must provide a copy of the 2024 Federal Income Tax Return filed by parent(s) or guardian(s) claiming student as a dependent.

NOTE

  • Family income cannot exceed levels shown in the chart

  • Applicant must provide a copy of his or her parent(s)/guardian(s) 2024 tax return or equivalent proof of income

  • W2 earning statements, payroll stubs, or bank statements are not accepted

  • Income guidelines provided by Florida Prepaid College Foundation
